the episode begins with brass finding a nightclub owner dead in a strip club. brass questions a few local people, including a bank teller, a blackjack dealer, and a football player. finally the breakthrough comes when stokes finds some dna from a lead pipe. brass goes back to the group and finds it was actually a bank teller the whole time, whom they had questioned before. grissom says "He who laughs last thinks slowest." and the episode fades to black.
