the episode begins with grissom finding an entrepreneur dead in a closet. grissom questions a few local people, including a tourist, a rich gambler, and a systems analyst. finally the breakthrough comes when stokes finds some dna from a wrench. grissom goes back to the group and finds it was actually a tourist the whole time, whom they had questioned before. grissom says "42.7 percent of all statistics are made up on the spot." and the episode fades to black.
