the episode begins with stokes finding a pimp dead in a desert. stokes questions a few local people, including a truck driver, an author, and a craps dealer. finally the breakthrough comes when sanders finds some dna from a strand of hair. stokes goes back to the group and finds it was actually a truck driver the whole time, whom they had questioned before. grissom says "On the other hand, you have different fingers." and the episode fades to black.
