the episode begins with sanders finding an entrepreneur dead in a restaurant. sanders questions a few local people, including a lawyer, a gangbanger, and a brother. finally the breakthrough comes when stokes finds some dna from a knife. sanders goes back to the group and finds it was actually a lawyer the whole time, whom they had questioned before. grissom says "If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving isn't for you." and the episode fades to black.
