the episode begins with willows finding a livein girlfriend dead in a strip club. willows questions a few local people, including a lawyer, a nightclub owner, and a computer programmer. finally the breakthrough comes when grissom finds some dna from a noose. willows goes back to the group and finds it was actually a lawyer the whole time, whom they had questioned before. grissom says "The early bird may get the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese." and the episode fades to black.
