the episode begins with willows finding a mother dead in a strip club. willows questions a few local people, including a systems analyst, a mechanic, and a cashier. finally the breakthrough comes when stokes finds some dna from a fingernail. willows goes back to the group and finds it was actually a systems analyst the whole time, whom they had questioned before. grissom says "The early bird may get the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese." and the episode fades to black.
