the episode begins with willows finding a cab driver dead in a hotel room. willows questions a few local people, including an actor, a blackjack dealer, and an entrepreneur. finally the breakthrough comes when willows finds some dna from a noose. willows goes back to the group and finds it was actually an actor the whole time, whom they had questioned before. grissom says "He who laughs last thinks slowest." and the episode fades to black.
