the episode begins with sidle finding an ex cop dead in a living room. sidle questions a few local people, including a school teacher, a sex fiend, and a jealous uncle. finally the breakthrough comes when sidle finds some dna from a booger. sidle goes back to the group and finds it was actually a school teacher the whole time, whom they had questioned before. grissom says "I just got lost in thought. It was unfamiliar territory." and the episode fades to black.
