the episode begins with grissom finding a truck driver dead in a nightclub. grissom questions a few local people, including a school teacher, a computer programmer, and an ex cop. finally the breakthrough comes when stokes finds some dna from a pool of spit. grissom goes back to the group and finds it was actually a school teacher the whole time, whom they had questioned before. grissom says "The early bird may get the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese." and the episode fades to black.
