the episode begins with brass finding a pimp dead in a stairwell. brass questions a few local people, including a hooker, a jealous uncle, and a mother. finally the breakthrough comes when brass finds some dna from a wrench. brass goes back to the group and finds it was actually a hooker the whole time, whom they had questioned before. grissom says "If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving isn't for you." and the episode fades to black.
