the episode begins with grissom finding a football player dead in a hotel room. grissom questions a few local people, including an actor, a pharmacist, and a doctor. finally the breakthrough comes when sanders finds some dna from a fingerprint. grissom goes back to the group and finds it was actually an actor the whole time, whom they had questioned before. grissom says "Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it." and the episode fades to black.
