the episode begins with brown finding a nightclub owner dead in a stairwell. brown questions a few local people, including a blackjack dealer, an entrepreneur, and a doctor. finally the breakthrough comes when sanders finds some dna from a booger. brown goes back to the group and finds it was actually a blackjack dealer the whole time, whom they had questioned before. grissom says "I feel like I'm diagonally parked in a parallel universe." and the episode fades to black.
