the episode begins with willows finding a football player dead in a bathroom. willows questions a few local people, including a cashier, a rich gambler, and a pharmacist. finally the breakthrough comes when stokes finds some dna from a strand of hair. willows goes back to the group and finds it was actually a cashier the whole time, whom they had questioned before. grissom says "99 percent of lawyers give the rest a bad name." and the episode fades to black.
