the episode begins with sidle finding a nightclub owner dead in a dumpster. sidle questions a few local people, including a debutant, a stripper, and a jealous uncle. finally the breakthrough comes when grissom finds some dna from a cheek cell. sidle goes back to the group and finds it was actually a debutant the whole time, whom they had questioned before. grissom says "Borrow money from a pessimist - they don't expect it back." and the episode fades to black.
